PINEWOOD FOYER MAKEOVER

THIS SPACIOUS FOYER NEEDED TO BE BRIGHTENED UP AND FILLED UP!
WE STARTED WITH THE PRINTED GRASSCLOTH TO PROVIDE DEPTH AND TEXTURE. THE HOMEOWNERS REALLY WANTED A CENTER TABLE FOR THE FOCAL POINT. WE DECIDED TO GO WITH A CUSTOM MADE HEXAGON SKIRTED TABLE IN A VIBRANT GREEN SILK.....AND WOW, THE FABRIC'S REFLECTIVE QUALITY AND COLOR INTENSITY CERTAINLY ADDS LIFE TO THIS DARKER SPACE!
FINALLY, THE ROMAN SHADES OUTLINED IN A COMPLIMENTARY BANDING TIE TOGETHER THE WHOLE LOOK.

BEFORE AND AFTER: PINEWOOD FAMILY ROOM

hands down, this cottage style house is ADORABLE!!! it sits on a large lot with killer views of virginia beach's princess anne country club golf course...this has been a super fun project for such a wonderful family of five.
we started 6 months ago....new house, new stuff! i basically had a clean slate and the family room was the first space to tackle.
GREEN was the requested color scheme.... my customers are horse people and really embrace the look of the traditional virginia countryside....and they were moving from a farm......so i wanted to give them a comfortable space...cozy, but still airy, with a timeless (yet current) look......and it had to handle dog traffic, and 9 year old boys traffic!
here's the before..........

MY NEW YORK CITY PAD.....IF ONLY I HAD THE $$$!

my upcoming SHOPPING TRIP to the new york design center OCTOBER 3RD-4TH has me way more excited than my typical nyc business trip. as usual, my parents tag along and we stay in a courtyard marriott in midtown........
HOWEVER, the courtyard recently redid the lobby-i HATE it!!!! i (we) needed a change....this time we are staying at The Waldorf...wahoo!
my dad and i are especially psyched for cocktail hour in the lobby and people watching!! my famous person radar is always up- (last visit i spotted(and conversed) with CAMERON DIAZ!! :-)...she was actually SUPER awesome considering i basically attacked her on the sidewalk-sorta :-)..SHE even reached to shake MY hand-LOVE her!!!
so here's the pad that my family and friends will  join me in for all my future nyc shopping trips!! ...hhmmmm...between 5th avenue and madison in the 60's?  how much do i have to save for this? 100-150k-HAH!
thanks to pinterest for loaning all these amazing pics from amazing designers!!!

BEFORE AND AFTER: SYLVAN GUEST ROOM WINDOW TREATMENTS / PHASE 1

today was installation day for window treatments in a customer's guest room!!
the homeowners never really "did" the guest room before but they were ready to make it special!!
they decided to move the master bedroom's headboard into the guest room which is the color scheme  worked from. we painted the walls a soft blue gray and used a parchment colored linen sheer lined with blackout liner for the london shades. and this stylish customer LOVES detail....so we took two separate trims, layered them, and attached them to the top and bottom of the shades-LOVE the results!!
here's a sneak peak of phase 1 in the guest room makeover.......
