BEFORE AND AFTER: MAGNOLIA KITCHEN

THIS KITCHEN WAS DARK, SMALL, AND OLD......AND HAD MAJOR STORAGE ISSUES!  IT SEEMED SO FAR REMOVED FROM THE REST OF THE HOUSE....WE REALLY NEEDED TO TEAR DOWN SOME WALLS AND RECONFIGURE THE SPACE.......

AND HERE'S THE DINING ROOM.....WHY NOT JOIN THE TWO SPACES!!!!

THE PENNINSULA IS THE PERFECT SPOT FOR MY CLIENT'S 3 LITTLE BOYS TO EAT SO THEY DONT GET THE DINING ROOM MESSY!

WE CREATED A WINDOW SEAT FOR A SMOOTH TRANSITION INTO THE DINING ROOM...AND IT MAKES THE KITCHEN SEEM LESS UTILITARIAN....IMPORTANT SINCE THE KITCHEN IS SO OPEN TO THE HOUSE!!!

hmmmm....we needed to clean this place up and make it look like a brand new kitchen! we were keeping the cabinets, but replacing the countertops.....and there is a great little side area for upholstery. and btw, this homeowner if super FUN and full of LIFE (and one of my best friends!)...the recipe for this design? COLOR!!!! time to get to work!

the cabinets do not go to the ceiling......which normally bothers me......so i had a thought! the Dana Gibson line had just come out from Stroheim.....and i fell in LOVE with one of Dana's papers for this space....and we needed a nice shiny white countertop and simple white subway backsplash....didnt want ANYTHING to compete with my Dana Gibson wallpaper! here are the afters......

BEFORE AND AFTER: LEXAN FAMILY ROOM

 THIS YOUNG FAMILY OF FIVE WAS LOOKING TO UPGRADE 

THEIR OLDER FURNISHINGS FOR A NEWER BRIGHTER LOOK.

BUT THEY ARE ALSO HOUSE HUNTING!!!!

 AND NEEDED VERSATILE / NEUTRAL PIECES.....

AND WANTED THEIR HOUSE TO "SHOW" WELL.

MY OPINION?

WE NEEDED TO FILL THIS ROOM WITH LOTS OF SEATING!!!

THE MORE FURNITURE, THE BIGGER THE ROOM IS GOING TO FEEL!!!

WE OPTED AGAINST A NEW RUG....

AND AGAINST WINDOW TREATMENTS....

(THOSE 2 THINGS ARE TOUGHER TO TAKE ELSEWHERE!)

FRONT DOOR: YAY OR NAY

WE NEED A BIGGER GARAGE!!!

but its not happening....

instead we need to build a shed and create

 better storage solutions in our existing garage. 

and since we need a new shed, why not use my 

plain glass (cheapo) front door on the new shed???!!!

which means..... i need a new front door-WAHOO!!! PROJECT!!!

i LOVE LOVE LOVE this door i found on pinterest.

 i actually saw it a couple of years ago and never stopped thinking about it!! 

here are our requirements:

-lots of glass (only one window in the living room and its north facing / dark room!

-stylish but can't complete with my railings
