BEFORE AND AFTER: GARAGE RENOVATION

our garage was literally falling apart-the door (original to the house) was starting to rot and much of the structure needed reinforcement. since we had to get it redone, i started getting excited! i wanted to make it pretty! i wanted a garage that my kids and their friends could hang out in....i wanted to cover up the ugly (water heater / furnace)....i wanted to lighten it up-it was depressingly dark...i wanted it to feel less claustrophobic (felt like the ceiling was caving in on me!)...i wanted it to look more finished and feel more like a room, but still function as a garage. here's the before....

and the after!!!!!!

my super nice friend donated their ping pong table that they never used-SCORE! now we have a place for the kids to go!!! thx C!

the ceiling was super low before....so, we took away half of the attic space so we could vault the ceiling and add sky lights-and WOW...what a massive difference this made!

this door used to be a window....but we swapped it out for a door for easy access to the backyard.....hmmmmm...a patio (and maybe outdoor kitchen?) sure would look nice out there!

now when i open the door, i no longer have YUCK to look at!

the water heater and furnace! and some extra storage space!

this custom door was a splurge.... but its SUPER heavy and solid-excellent for insulation and helped the curb appeal.

wondering where all of our garage junk went? well, most of it was stuff we didn't need anyway....and the rest went into a new shed!
